In common with Marshall of Cambridge, Gates Contract Hire was formerly a division of a major family plc dealer group ‘Gates’ - one of the first Ford dealers in the United Kingdom. With over 40 years trading experience in the contract hire industry founded on the basis of premium customer service, Gates Contract Hire were a formative member of the BVRLA and has an established reputation for personal service in the south of England.

Being aware of the need to expand and develop their product range in the various forms of leasing, finance and fleet management, and to stay ahead in a changing and highly competitive market, the Gates family decided to sell the business to Marshall Leasing in 2006.

Marshall Leasing was selected from many interested parties because they recognised the strengths and core values of Gates Contract Hire and had shared a similar company ethos. Like Marshall Leasing, Gates Contract Hire offers dedicated high levels of personal service, designed and tailored solutions for each individual customers needs.
