Introducing the Association of Fleet Professionals

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has been formed to provide guidance to those within the fleet management industry and will plough the profits from training back into the organisation.
We at Marshall Leasing are proud to say that Richard Baird, our Director of New Business Development, has also been appointed as a board director of AFP and will additionally assume the role of company secretary. The Association of Fleet Professionals’ board will oversee the continuation of the work of both ACFO and ICFM, whose respective boards will continue in situ.
The new association was formed through the amalgamation of ACFO and the ICFM.
ACFO’s manta has been to share best practice within the fleet industry as well as ensuring that fleet had an independent voice, by lobbying government.
The ICFM has provided recognised training and certification for people with responsibility for fleet.
It therefore made sense to combine these two organisations, to share best practice, to further professionalise the industry through training, whilst remaining the voice of fleet in the UK.
Members include fleet managers or other fleet companies and suppliers with single membership prices starting as low as £299. There are five membership types, ranging from Fleet Operator, all the way to a platinum-level membership for Fleet Service Providers which includes eight memberships. The association has set out a comprehensive list of benefits to its members, including:
- A flat membership fee, irrespective of fleet size.
- Supportive advice, guidance and webinars covering the latest issues of the day.
- Personal development and career enhancement via the ICFM‘s highly acknowledged education and training programmes.
- Free attendance at regional seminars and the annual conference.
- Annual awards for successful trainees and class-leading fleet industry suppliers.
- Advance consultation on new legislation and government initiatives.
- Representation of members’ views via our lobbying activities and regular dialogue with Government departments and officials.
- A Fleet Directory providing information on class leading fleet products and services.
- Free to attend Annual Conference and Seminars covering topical fleet issues and awards for class-leading fleet professionals and industry suppliers.
